Sept 16, 1945: Japanese surrender party aboard PT-171. There are two smilling Japanese soliders on the far right, and an Australian soldier with binoculars standing in the cockpit. Despite smilling POWs on board, notice that the guns are fully loaded. The skipper is Emerson Cole, who supplied many other pictures on this site. His hand is firmly on his sidearm - just in case. My grandfather is the kneeling man in the white shirt to the left of the "Dinah Might" logo.
